Me is Ieyasu Sugimoto.
Currently I am working part time as a post-doc researcher at the University of Graz and the other part as a software engineer in a company specialized in developing air traffic control software. I live together with my girlfriend Barbara in the wonderful little city of Graz, which is in Styria, which again is in Austria, which again is in Europe – no kangaroos in Austria.
As I know myself it is unlikely that there will be regular posts, but there will be rather random posts of random thoughts. They will contain personal views and some stuff about my daily life at work.
I finished my PhD just recently, and the thesis deals with aircraft departure sequencing. That means computing an efficient departure sequence in the short term, e.g. 15 planes are ready for departure and the goal is to find a sequence so that the least time is needed for all planes to take off. Very little time is available for these computations and it involves lots of maths and computing, which are therefore my main scientific interests. There have been some article in Austrian newspapers, namely in the “Kleine Zeitung”, the “Grazer Woche” and the “Weekend Magazin”.
